SullivanOBIT-webWAKEFIELD — Paul M. Sullivan Jr., 48, of Wakefield died on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Boston on April 18, 1967, he was the son of Paul M. and Elaine M. (Ropple) Sullivan of Somerville.

Paul was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1985 and had received two associate’s degrees from Bunker Hill Community College in Fire Science and Radiology Technology. Paul had been a Somerville firefighter since 1989 and had been promoted to lieutenant in 2014.

He was a member of the Greater Boston Firefighter Pipes and Drums.

In addition to his parents, Paul was the husband of Linda M. (Bilwin) Sullivan; the father of Matthew J. Sullivan, Michael S. Sullivan, Katherine M. Sullivan and the late Stephen E. Sullivan. He was the brother of Stephen J. Sullivan and his partner David Gagne of South Boston and Kathy M. Dudley of Somerville. He was the son-in-law of Mary and Ed Bilwin of Quincy, brother-in-law of John M. Bilwin of Quincy and the uncle of Samantha Dudley. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and loyal and devoted friends. Paul will be greatly missed by his friends and brothers from the Somerville and Wakefield Firefighter Departments.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
