Paulette-Galvin-webMELROSE — Paulette (Keaveny) Galvin, 66, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on March 22, 2015.

Paulette was born in Medford on November 5, 1948 to the late Thomas & Betty (Murray) Keaveny. She was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1966 and has been a resident of Melrose since 1973. Mrs. Galvin worked for several years as the head lunch mother at Winthrop School in Melrose. She also worked as an operator at New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham, in Quality Care at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and finally as an executive assistant for 15 years at Salem Hospital in the psychiatry department. She volunteered as a CCD teacher, was a Cub Scout den mother and was a longtime member of Incarnation Church in Melrose.

Paulette was the beloved wife of Michael T. Galvin. She was the loving mother of Michael T. Galvin Jr. and his wife Emily of Franklin, New Hampshire; Stephen Galvin and his wife Erin of Lynn; and Danielle Leary and her husband Steve of West Boylston. She was the cherished grandmother of Molly, Olivia, Stephen Jr. and Liam. She was the caring sister of Michelle Phippen of Beverly; Tommy Keaveny of Townsend; and Patrick Keaveny of Templeton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home on Thursday March 26. Paulette’s funeral will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday March 28 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. There is no visitation or services on Friday.
