WAKEFIELD — The DPW has released the work schedule for paving projects on North Avenue, Albion Street and Salem Street.
All work is weather permitting and will be done between about 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
Today subcontractors working for Brox Paving Co. began the bituminous curb and sidewalk work on Salem Street. Additionally the paving contractor will be doing structure repair and adjustment on Salem Street.
The North Avenue work begins Thursday night, Aug. 27. Brox crews will pave from in front of MacNeill’s Auto Repair to the intersection of Broadway. When that work is complete, Albion Street will be paved from Tuttle Street to Byron Street. According to the schedule submitted by the DPW, the combined North Avenue-Albion Street paving project is expected to last until Thursday, Sept. 3.
Crews are expected to begin paving Salem Street from Main Street to Tobey Lane Monday night, Aug. 31, continuing until Friday, Sept. 4.
Residents along each street to be repaved are urged to have vehicles removed from the area during paving hours if you are planning to use them. Any vehicle left on the roadway that impedes work will be towed.
In the event of rain or equipment issues, the work schedule will be postponed one night or until the work may proceed. Residents are asked to remove any personal items from the edge of the construction area or flag anything that cannot be moved.
If you have any questions, contact Highway Supervisor Don Schneider at 781-246-6314 or Eric Sherman at 781-246-6308 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
