ONE HUNDRED years after the U.S. entered the “war to end all wars,” the bronze honor roll stands frozen in time on the town common. “Dedicated to the Lynnfield boys who served in the World War 1917–1919,” it includes the names of 64 servicemen, including Willard J. Freeman, John F. Lammers and Benjamin L. Mitchell, who had “made the Supreme Sacrifice.” The lower half of the plaque honors the town’s 104 veterans of the Civil War 1861–1865.
