WAKEFIELD — Following is a sample of the calls answered yesterday and early this morning by the Wakefield Police Department:

THURSDAY

• 8:38 a.m.: A found wallet was turned into police headquarters. A letter will be sent to the owner.

• 9:07 a.m.: A Jennifer Road woman complained of chest pains and was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

• 9:12 a.m.: A license and credit cards were left in the lobby of the Public Safety Building. A letter will be sent to the owner.

• 10:07 a.m.: A citizen reported a dog had been left in a motor vehicle in a parking lot on Water Street. Police responded and found the caller was mistaken, since the vehicle’s owner was inside it too.

• 10:32 a.m.: A rear door alarm was activated at an Atwood Street home. Police responded and said dogs were running loose inside the house.

• 10:41 a.m.: An alarm malfunctioned and went off inside the garage of a Fitch Court home.

• 10:53 a.m.: A woman called police saying her elderly mother on Spruce Street required medical attention. The woman was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

• 1:09 p.m.: An officer reported the MBTA train gate was stuck in the down position at the Chestnut Street crossing. The MBTA was notified; non-rush hour commuter rail service has been suspended along the Haverhill Line until the end of October.

• 4:03 p.m.: A group was removed from the Beebe Library steps and police wrote one parking ticket.

• 4:26 p.m.: A Elm Street resident told police her roommate was unresponsive. Police used one dose of the opioid overdose treatment known as Narcan, the woman was revived and taken to the hospital by Action Ambulance personnel.

• 4:52 p.m.: A man told police he found a bag of baseball equipment on Preston Street. The items were retrieved by police.

• 5:38 p.m.: A Pheasantwood Terrace resident called police to report a screen was missing on the back sliding door of her home. She said it may have been misplaced and there did not seem to be any sign of a past break into her house.

• 7:06 p.m.: Five cars were reportedly parked illegally on Main Street and were cited for violations.

• 8:57 p.m.: A woman told police a man was lying on the sidewalk at the intersection of Main Street and Richardson Avenue. He was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for evaluation.

• 9:42 p.m.: A Centre Street businesswoman told police a man was sleeping in the stairway of her business. The man was sent on his way.

• 9:57 p.m.: Four youths who were reportedly causing a disturbance on the new playing field along Main Street at the Galvin Middle School were sent on their way by police.

• 10 p.m.: Someone trespassing on a Mansion Road property had left the area by the time police arrived.

• 10:49 p.m.: A disabled motor vehicle on North Avenue was towed away.

FRIDAY

• 3:10 a.m.: A citizen reported that a man was sleeping inside a Main Street ATM. The sleeping man awakened and given a courtesy ride to Dunkin’ Donuts.
