WAKEFIELD — Four vehicles on Stark Avenue were broken into between Sunday night and Monday morning. The owners notified police at various times yesterday as the breaks were discovered. All four vehicles had been unlocked, police said.

One of the vehicles was a Toyota Tacoma from which an Apple iPad was reported stolen.

Two of the vehicles, a 2012 Jeep and a 2008 Toyota RAV 4 were owned by the same Stark Avenue resident. Police said that it appeared that someone had gone through the glove boxes but nothing was reported stolen and there was no damage to either vehicle.

Another Stark Avenue resident reported a break-in to a 2002 Ford Ranger. It appeared that some loose change was taken.

Police said that an officer was parked at the Knights of Columbus monitoring traffic on North Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. yesterday when he ran the plate number of a passing Land Rover. It showed that the registered owner, a 35-year-old Manchester, N.H. man, had a suspended license. The officer was able to stop the vehicle and the owner will be summonsed to court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Police, firefighters and Action Ambulance personnel were called to the area of Salem Street and Montrose Avenue at about 1 p.m. after the driver of a 2007 Honda Civic lost control of the car and hit a guy wire supporting a utility pole. It appeared that slippery road conditions may have been a factor.

At about 3:30 p.m. police, firefighters and Action Ambulance personnel responded to Vernon Street after a car crashed into a fence. It appeared that road conditions may have contributed to the accident. No injuries were reported.

An employee of the Lakeside Inn called police at about 8:15 last night requesting assistance with an intoxicated man who was refusing to leave the hotel lobby. When police brought the man back to the station, he requested to be taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

A 26-year-old Lowell woman will be summonsed to court for operating with a suspended license and operating an unregistered and uninsured vehicle after police stopped the Pontiac she was driving on Vernon Street at about 9:30 last night. Police said that the officer that made the stop had prior knowledge that the vehicle’s registration had been suspended for insurance reasons. Upon making the stop, it turned out that the driver also had a suspended license.

No citations were issued after a two-car crash near Main and Nahant streets at about 11:30 last night. Police said that a 2003 Saturn and a 1995 Mitsubishi were traveling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.

Police had a number of vehicles tagged and towed last night for being parked on the street and impeding plowing operations during a declared parking ban.
