MIDDLETON — Priscilla M. Melanson, 87, of Middleton, formerly of Lynnfield and Wakefield, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Salem Hospital.

Born in Wakefield on September 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Rauseo) Carbone.

Mrs. Melanson was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, the late Elmer “Lefty” Melanson. They later moved to Lynnfield where they raised their family of five boys. Mrs. Melanson was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had worked for a number of years at the Lynnfield Water Department.

She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer F. “Lefty” Melanson. She was the loving mother of Bruce E. Melanson of Maine, Barry A. Melanson of Middleton, Brian L. Melanson of New Hampshire, Brad M. Melanson and his wife Cindy of Georgetown, and the late Elmer “Butch” Melanson. She was the sister of Catherine Previte, Sylvia Bonomo, and the late Victor Carbone. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, April 21. A graveside service was held at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield on Saturday, April 22.
