MELROSE — Raymond A. MacMillan Jr., 81, of Melrose died Friday, April 7, 2017 at his residence.

Raymond was born in Boston on June 21, 1935 and was the son of the late Raymond A. and Blanche A. (Carson) MacMillan.

Raymond was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1953, and later graduated from Northeastern University. He was a resident of Melrose for the past 58 years. Raymond was also a U.S. Army veteran and had worked and retired as a purchasing agent for several different companies, including Signet, Maine Manufacturing of Nashua, N.H. and Barry Control of Waltham. He was very active and enjoyed welding, woodworking and most any fix-it job. He also enjoyed summers at Lake Sunapee.

Raymond was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Leonard) MacMillan. He was the loving father of John MacMillan and his wife Kathleen of Wakefield and Nancy Pica and her husband Gary of Melrose. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Kara, Emily, Amanda, Ryan, and his great-grandchild, Eliot.

His funeral service was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, April 13. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening. Interment will take place at Winnicunitt Cemetery in Norton.
