Electric engineer worked for General Electric

Raymond-Grady-obit-webNORTHWOOD, N.H. — Raymond F. “Ray” Grady Jr., 80, of Northwood, N.H. and formerly of Lynnfield, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 21.

Ray was born in Peabody on June 21, 1935 and was the son of the late Raymond Francis Sr. and Harriet (Lyons) Grady. Ray was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1953. He went on to receive his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and later his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. He spent his entire career of 39 years with General Electric of Lynn.

Ray and his wife Joan were longtime residents of Lynnfield, where they raised their two daughters, Theresa and Patricia; and later retired to Bow Lake in New Hampshire in 2003. Ray’s greatest pleasure came from being with his family on the lake. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend who radiated warmth and kindness wherever he went.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Joan (Lawlor) Grady. He is survived by his two daughters: Theresa Grady of West Roxbury and Patricia Sisk and her husband Michael of Simsbury, Conn. He was the brother of Thomas Grady and his wife Ruth of Topsfield; and Mary McGowan and her husband Robert of Danvers. Ray is also survived by his three beloved grandchildren: Tyler, Meghan and Caroline Sisk.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Wednesday, April 27 from 3-7 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield, on Thursday, April 28, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Salem.
