WAKEFIELD — Richard G. Brown, 59, of Wakefield passed away this past weekend on February 26.
He was born in Medford on December 7, 1957, and was the son of the late Robert J. and Ann M. (Lancelotta) Brown. Richard was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of the Wakefield Memorial High School, Class of 1976, where he played varsity soccer, basketball and track.
He served honorably in the Massachusetts National Guard and coached youth sports in Wakefield for many years. He was also a recent graduate of Bunker Hill Community College where he attained a 4.0 GPA.
Richard was the proud owner of Cozy Oil, Inc. and Superb Painting.
Richard was a great brother to Robert, and was an even better uncle to his niece Rachel and his two nephews, Matthew and Christian Brown. However, his greatest achievement in life was his unparalleled devotion as a dedicated single father to his accomplished sons, Richie and Nakia Brown.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., in Wakefield on Friday, March 3, from 4-8 p.m.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home on Saturday at 10 a.m, followed by a funeral Mass at the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery.
