WAKEFIELD — Rita Doulis (DeLuca), age 68, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away February 26, 2021, at Lahey Medical Center, Burlington following a brief illness. She was the wife of 43 years to Kosta Doulis. Born in Boston and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Jeanette (Seminara) DeLuca.
Rita had been employed as a scheduling coordinator at Lahey in Burlington and Beverly before her retirement. She later enjoyed spending time with and caring for her grandchildren several days a week.
Rita was a regular visitor at the Beebe Library in Wakefield, as she loved to read. She also enjoyed listening to opera.
She was the cherished mother of Stephanie Stearns and her husband Michael of Tewksbury and Andrew Doulis and his fiancee Ariana Benedetto of Wilmington. She also leaves her grandchildren, Alexa and Luke Stearns and soon to be born Gina Doulis; a brother Joseph DeLuca of Goffstown, NH; many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Rita’s life will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial gifts may be made to The Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
