WAKEFIELD — Robert E. Foley, age 79, a longtime Wakefield resident, died Tuesday, October 3 at his residence.

Born in Woburn on November 20, 1937 he was the son of the late Edward and Evelyn (Lundin) Foley.

Mr. Foley was raised in Woburn and was a graduate of Keith Academy in Lowell. Having lived in Wakefield since 1962 he was very involved in the community. Mr. Foley was a town Constable for many years and had run the Americal Civic Center for a number of years, as well as being involved in the North Shore Model Railroad Club. He was also a dedicated parishioner of St. Joseph Church and was a member and past manager of the Conquistadors. Mr. Foley had worked in the automotive industry and held many positions throughout his career.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary P. (Danehey) Foley.  He was the loving father of Maureen Yamartino and her husband John of Lynn, Kathleen Molhan and her husband David of North Reading, and Robert Foley, Jr. of Woburn. He was the brother of Julie West of New Hampshire. He is also survived by grandchildren: Katelyn and her sister Jillian Yamartino, Amanda Cooper and her husband Zachary, Kevin Molhan and his wife Sarah, and Brett Molhan.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 3-7 p.m.
