McNallobit-webSTONEHAM — Robert G. McNall, 88, of Stoneham, formerly of Reading, died Monday, September 4, at the Kaplan House in Danvers.

Robert was born in Lawrence on April 2, 1929 and was the son of the late William and Grace (Holland) McNall.

Robert was a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1946 and later attended Northeastern University. He retired as an engineer for B&M Railroad and later Amtrak.

Robert loved golfing and ran the senior league at Hillview Country Club for many years.

He owned several horses over the years and raced at various tracks in the area.

Robert was the beloved husband of Louise D. (Badaracco) McNall for 67 years. He was the loving father of Cynthia Nesbitt and husband Craig of Reading, PA, David McNall and wife Erin of Northwood, NH, and John McNall and wife Maria of North Reading. He was the brother of Joseph McNall of Lynnfield and the late William and Thomas McNall. He was the grandfather of Lt. Col Michael Nesbitt, USMC; Lt. Col Amy Nesbitt, USAF; Rebecca, Casey, Leanne, Gabriel, Elaina, Colton, and Dagan McNall. He was predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Richard “Rickie” and Joseph McNall. He is also survived by his great grandson Tyler Nesbitt and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o’clock.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment in Puritan Lawn memorial Park, Peabody.
