Malonsonobit-webWAKEFIELD — Robert Malonson, 81, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, peacefully surrounded by his loving children.
Bob was devoted to his family. He was born and raised in Wakefield, where he met and married his wife Barbara. Bob built a home for his family on Plum Island, where they raised their four children.
He worked since the age of 14 to help support his family. As an adult he worked as a foreman at Scholefield Concrete Forms in Wakefield.
Bob was a talented carpenter and builder. In his younger days he was known for his strength, he would carry two forms at a time.
He enjoyed his time with his family, building furniture and working on his home.
He is predeceased by his parents Peter and Annie (DeVeau) Malonson; his siblings Frank Landry, Girlie (Mary) Malonson, Ruth Wilkerson, Claire (Tinny) Goodwin,Everett (Pully) Malonson, Doris Kelly, Ethel Rosati; his first wife Barbara (Beherrell) Malonson and his second wife Barbara (Rogers) Malonson.
He leaves behind his four loving children: Robin Clemence and her husband Paul of Rowley, Kimberly Brown and her husband Brian of Salisbury, James Malonson of Haverhill, Elizabeth Malonson Smith of Haverhill and his sister Mary Smith of Wakefield; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed.
Burial preparations will be made by Casper Funeral Services. A memorial service will be held at the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent St., Rowley on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m.
