Loved all sports and enjoyed summer gatherings

MELROSE — Bob (Polkie) was born and raised in Melrose. He attended Melrose High School and continued his education at Merrimack College. After graduating from college, Bob went on to work as a crisis counselor for 30 years at St. Ann’s Home in Methuen.

He leaves behind his loving partner of 19 years, Teresa Menard and their dog Whiskey, both of Wakefield; three children Erin Polk, Chris Polk and Tim Powers, all of NH; along with four grandchildren Connor and Sophia Foote of Wakefield; Ryleigh Menard of Wakefield; and Aledia Polk of NH.

Bob loved all sports and enjoyed doing his fantasy teams for football and hockey. He loved spending time with family and his summer gatherings with friends. He always looked forward to Sunday mornings when he made a round of phone calls or FaceTime with friends to make sure everyone was ok.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, March 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
