Army veteran, retired letter carrier

Testa,-Robert_PIC-1_webNORTH READING – Robert P. Testa, age 79, of No. Reading, formerly of Wakefield and Stoneham, died Sunday, August 13 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading with his family by his side.

Born in Boston on September 8, 1937 he was the son of the late Carmine and Mary (Randolph) Testa.

Mr. Testa was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1956. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served in Korea. Mr. Testa was retired from the United States Postal Service Wakefield location where he had been a letter carrier for over 27 years. He was an avid Patriots fan and loved all the Boston sports teams.

He was the beloved husband of Marilyn T. (LeBlanc) Testa. He was the loving father of Christine A. Friberg and her husband John of Windham, NH. He was the adoring grandfather of Alison Friberg and John “Jay” Friberg and his wife Chelsea. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Josephine Testa of Pepperell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers: Joseph and Paul Testa.

His Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 11am. Interment will be private. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 9am.
