Camara-obit-webMELROSE — Roberta L. “Bobbie” (Fitzgerald) Camara, of Melrose, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Sept. 18 at the age of 75.

Bobbie was born in Boston, raised in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School. She worked as a case administrator for the Chapter 13 Trustees Office for over 20 years.

Bobbie resided in Melrose for the past 10 years and enjoyed decorating, shopping and cooking. She loved traveling to Italy, Turks & Caicos and spending time at Salisbury Beach.

Bobbie was a wonderful mother who sacrificed a lot to raise her two daughters.

She was the devoted daughter of Lorraine (Haskell) and the late Thomas Fitzgerald of Wakefield.

She was loving mother of Laurie L. Zorba and her boyfriend James Kelly of North Billerica and Christine A. DeCarolis and her husband James of New Hampshire. She was the former wife of the late Xenophon Zorba and Kenneth Camara. She was the dear friend of Tony Reis of Melrose and Joan Downing of Lynnfield. Also survived by Roberta’s cherished Maltese “Maggie.”

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. The funeral will be from the Gately Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 26, at 8 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Boston.
