ObitVentura-webWAKEFIELD — Rosario J. Ventura, 92, a lifelong resident of Wakefield died Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.
Born in Wakefield, Aug. 2, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Accolla) Ventura.
Rosario was a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1942. He served in the Army during World War II. Rosario was a retired communication consultant for the former New England Telephone Company.
He was also the owner of Sarrin Studios of Wakefield, where he taught guitar for many years.
He is survived by his wife Helen (DeMarco) Ventura of Wakefield; his three sons, Joseph N. Ventura and his companion Kathie Hannigan, James A. Ventura and spouse Kim R. Fay, all of Stoneham, and Robert R. Ventura and his wife Cindy of Reading, and his sister Mary Adragna of Wakefield. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Jamie Ann Ventura and Kyle R. Ventura.
Funeral services will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery.
