MELROSE — Rosemary T. (Holland) Burke of Melrose passed away peacefully with family members by her side on Dec. 10.

She was the beloved wife of John F. Burke. She was the loving mother John and his wife Helen of Maryland, the late Dennis and his wife Theresa Melnikas and her husband Andrew of North Andover, Joseph and his wife Lisa of North Andover, Stephen and his wife Karen of North Andover, Matthew and his wife Colleen of Woburn, Maureen Wozniak and her husband Matthew of Colorado, Julie Gage and her husband Mark of Melrose and the late Jeanne Burke. Also survived by 25 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and predeceased by grandchildren Allison and Kevin Burke.

Rosemary was the beloved sister of Joseph (Charlie) Holland of Billerica, John Holland of Walpole and the late Denise (Holland) Bussiere of Waltham.

Rosemary had retired after serving as the chaplain at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.

Family and friends gathered to share memories with the family on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 4-8 p.m. in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Route 28), Stoneham. A funeral Mass celebrating Rosemary’s eternal life was held Thursday, Dec. 15, in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 a.m.

Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
