The Stoneham Transportation Advisory Committee (STAC) was formed as part of the Stoneham Square Strategic Action Plan that the Town of Stoneham developed in conjunction with the MAPC (Metropolitan Area Planning Council). The five-year action plan aims to improve public transportation and walkability, add community events and beautify the streetscape to make the area function better for businesses, residents and visitors. The STAC volunteer committee works to improve transportation in Stoneham – everything from expanded MBTA bus service and improved vehicle parking signs and maps to bike parking and Complete Street initiatives.
