WAKEFIELD — Ruth D. Sedlacko, 89, of Wakefield passed away Tuesday, April 11.
She is survived by her daughters Irene and Anita and grandsons John and James Whalen, all of Wakefield.
In addition to her husband John F. Sedlacko, she was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Anita (Leach) Edkins and siblings Donald Edkins, Norma Black, Pauline Knowlton and Robert Edkins.
Born in Melrose, Ruth married John in 1947 and moved to Wakefield in 1954. A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Ruth enjoyed caring for her family and growing flowers and vegetables in her gardens, and she loved animals, especially birds and cats.
Following private services, Ruth was buried with her husband at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
