Former loan officer at Progressive Credit Union

NORTH READING — Ruth E. Singelais, 89, of North Reading, formerly of Malden, died Tuesday, Nov. 15 at her residence.
Born in Boston on Dec. 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Florence (Cameron) MacVicor.
Ruth was a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Roxbury. She was a longtime Malden resident prior to moving to North Reading, where she has been for over 20 years. She had worked as a loan processor at Progressive Credit Union in Malden. Ruth loved to bowl, square dance and read.
She was the beloved mother of Susan Beaulieu and her husband Paul of Lynnfield; and Diane Poirier and her husband Lawrence of Wilmington. She was the sister of the late Norman McVicor. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Elizabeth, Steven and Ashley. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Ruth’s Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, Dec. 1, at noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 11 a.m. to noon.
