NORTH READING — On July 20 and 21 Hillview Golf Club hosted the N.E. PGA Jr. Match Play Tournament.
HILLVIEW GOLF CLUB employee Ryan Delaney won the N.E. PGA Jr. Match Play Tournament last week
Ryan Delaney won the tournament with his excellent golf skills and his local knowledge. Delaney is a Hillview employee and will be a senior and captain of the NRHS golf team this coming fall.
Delaney shot 74 to qualify for the third seed out of eight in the match play. In the first round of match play Ryan defeated the sixth seed 4 and 3.
The semifinals brought more of a challenge with the number two seed but Delaney outlasted his opponent and won the match in 22 holes.
The finals match went smooth for Delaney as he closed out his opponent on the 16th hole.
Ryan will look to continue his excellent play as he heads to Andover Country Club for the Boda Memorial on Aug. 6.
