WAKEFIELD — Salvatore Santorelli, 74, of Wakefield died on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Paternopoli, Avellino, Italy on November 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Palmira (Petruzzo) Santorelli.

Mr. Santorelli was raised in Paternopoli, Avellino, Italy. He moved to Woburn in 1965 and had been a Wakefield resident since 1973. Mr. Santorelli was the owner of Santorelli Construction Company in Wakefield. He enjoyed gardening, wine making and playing bocce.

Mr. Santorelli is survived by his wife Carmela (Molinaro) Santorelli, his four children: Palmira S. Bruno and her husband Louis of Scarsdale, N.Y., Pasquale Santorelli and his wife Suzanne of Windham, N.H., Alessandra Santorelli and her husband Jose Montes of Monroe, Conn. and Nancy Santorelli of Brooklyn, N.Y., his sister Rosa Cresta of Stoneham, his brother Gerardo Santorelli and his wife Tina of Woburn and his brother-in-law Raffaele Barbieri of Stoneham. He was the beloved Nonno of Jose, Francesca and Pia Montes Santorelli, Luca, Arianna and Gino Santorelli and Gianluca Bruno. Mr. Santorelli is also survived by a large extended family. He was predeceased by his two brothers; Pasquale Santorelli, Antonio Santorelli and his sister Raffaella Barbieri.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at
9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from
2-6 p.m.
