WAKEFIELD — Sandra L. (Moore) Dillon, daughter of the late Lewis R. and Margaret L. (Laburn) Moore, passed away peacefully on March 24 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital.
Her loving family and several close friends were by her side as she transitioned from this world to the next.
Sandra, known as “Sandy,” was a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School. She was an administrative assistant for many years at various companies and retired from Waddell and Reed.
Sandy was a joyful presence in the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her storytelling, sense of humor, and her passion for music and poetry.
She inspired many with her beautiful voice and guitar playing that she offered as a gift at wedding ceremonies and social gatherings. Sandy had a boundless love for literature and poetry which she enthusiastically shared with those around her. Her remarkable talents and the life lessons she brought into focus for many will be forever cherished.
Sandy leaves her devoted husband of 37 years John Dillon of Wakefield, her beloved sons Stephen R. Taylor and his wife Mandy Howard of Florida, and Matthew Taylor and his wife Felicity Senoski of San Diego.
Sandy was predeceased by her sister Jean M. (Moore) Wells and survived by Jean’s husband David Wells of Findlay, Ohio, and her siblings John L. Moore of Ocean Park, Maine, William L. Moore of Saco, Maine, and Barbara A. Davies of Portland, Maine, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Services for Sandy will be held on Saturday, April 1, at the First Congregational Church, UCC, 121 West Foster St. in Melrose.
Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the church. Service at 12 noon. Reception to be held at the church hall immediately following the service.
In tribute to Sandy, as purple was her favorite color, her family invites you to wear or carry something purple.
