NORTH READING — SCUBA Vacation Bible School at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 235 Park St., was a “splash!” From Monday to Friday, August 19-23, children preschool to fifth grade learned songs, played games, did crafts, and “dove” into Bible stories learning about the love of Jesus.
“We had 31 children from the community, many who attend local churches, and some not connected to any church,” said Rev. Rachel Fisher of Aldersgate UMC. “It’s wonderful to have a week of learning about God’s love for us during the summer, because the school year is often really busy!” Rev. Fisher notes that just as the children came from a number of local churches, the volunteers also came from other churches including Old South UMC in Reading, First UMC in North Andover, First Baptist Church of Reading, and St. Theresa’s in North Reading.
