LYNNFIELD — Seven members of the Lynnfield High boys’ tennis team received post-season honors by the Cape Ann League coaches.

Six Pioneers were named to the CAL First-Team All-Stars while one made the CAL Second-Team All-Stars.

Second singles player, Dan Levin, made the First-Team for the second year in a row. The sophomore finished the year at 18-3 overall and 10-1 in the league.

Freshman Shea McCarthy made the First-Team. He was 9-0 at third singles in league action and he finished 15-3 overall.

The first doubles team of senior Dave Kasdon and junior Rafik Khodr were First-Team All-Stars as they went undefeated in league play and were 19-2 overall. They both made the First-Team All-Stars last year.

The second doubles team of senior Jason Yang and sophomore Russell Kasdon also made the First Team All-Stars for the second consecutive year. They were also unbeaten in league play and finished at 18-2 overall.

Last year, Dave Kasdon was teamed up with Yang while Russell Kasdon was partnered with Khodr.

Senior Harrison Luba made the CAL Second-Team All-Stars. The number-one singles player also made the CAL First-Team All-Stars as a freshman back when he was playing at number two singles.

“These guys made it easy for me,” said Pioneers sixth-year head coach Joe Dunn. “Their level of play is amazing and I am very proud of all of them.”

It was another outstanding year for the team as they lost to Weston in the MIAA Division 4 state title match on June 18.

Lynnfield finished at 19-2 overall with their only other loss coming to Division 1 St. John’s Prep.

In the CAL, they went 11-0 as they captured the CAL Kinney Division for the fourth-straight time.
