Shirley-Corcoran-obit-webMELROSE — Shirley E, (Crocker) Corcoran, 85, of Melrose, died at home on March 13, 2017.

Shirley was born and raised in Melrose, and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1949. She was a lifelong Melrose resident and activities director for the Fitch Home in Melrose for many years. Shirley and her husband enjoyed traveling to Florida, Missouri, Aruba, St. Thomas and Bermuda many times. She loved vacationing in Ossipee, Littleton and Alton Bay, New Hampshire. Shirley was a very caring person who would always take care of everyone and her family was the most important part of her life.

She was the beloved wife of Donald F. Corcoran for 64 years. She was the loving mother of Cathy A. Dunne and her husband Richard of Melrose; Joan M. Starkey of Missouri; and Susan J. Simeola and her husband Mark of Melrose. She was the cherished grandmother of Kerri, Brian, Michael, Scott, Stacey, Brooke and the late Chris Dunne. She was great grandmother of Trayven, Alissa, Mckenzie, Lance and Charlotte. She was the caring sister of the late Jean Leahy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, March 17 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, March 18 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
