Stephen-Belmonte-obit-webMELROSE — Stephen Anthony Belmonte passed away on Feb. 13  from natural causes at Oosterman’s rest home in Melrose.

Stephen and his wife Angela raised their three daughters on Beech Avenue in Melrose. Stephen and Angela later moved to Wakefield. When he passed away, at Oosterman’s, he was back in the neighborhood where he was the best Dad in the world to his three daughters. He will be missed.

Stephen was the beloved husband of the late Angela (Mattucci) Belmonte. He was the son of the late Alfred and Susan (Beatrice) Belmonte. He was the loving father of Carol A. O’Donnell and her husband William of Melrose; Susan L. Ferguson and her husband Paul of Wakefield and the late Denise E. Heath. He was the cherished grandfather of Jeannine, William, Susan, Katie, Stephen, Albert, Angela, Adam and Melissa. He was the great-grandfather of Christopher, Kevin, Nicholas, Daniel, Alanna, Declan, Nima, Aviana and Kellan. He was the great-great-grandfather of Giovanni and Angello. He was the caring brother of Camille Barriesi of Melrose and the late Anthony Belmonte. He was the former father-in-law of Albert Heath of Derry, N.H. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, Feb. 17 Stephen’s funeral from the Gately Funeral Home was held on Thursday, Feb. 18, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Herbert Sreet, Melrose.
