Owned automotive service station; avid stock market investor
LYNNFIELD — Stewart Bernstein, 71, of Lynnfield, beloved husband of Theresa (Sanchirico) Bernstein and beloved father to Matthew Lewis Bernstein, entered eternal rest on February 18, 2015 at his home following a year-long struggle with cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1943, he was the son of the late Lewis and Laura (Balch) Bernstein. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn and was a graduate of the William Grady Technical School with a concentration in automotive repair.
Stewart was the proprietor of an automotive service station in Brooklyn, N.Y. with his brother until the time of his retirement. He followed in the footsteps of his father, serving his Brooklyn neighborhood and community for many years.
Stewart and his wife moved to Lynnfield in 1993 and have since resided there. He was an avid investor in the stock market since the age of 16 and took great pride in his technical analysis and consistent quest for knowledge about the market.
A baseball lover from a young age, he was a passionate Brooklyn Dodgers fan until the Dodgers left Brooklyn, yet he continued to enjoy watching baseball and football for many years. He had a deep passion for 1950s style music and enjoyed watching old movies. He was a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife Theresa and his loving son Matt, Stewart is survived by his sister Roberta and extended family and friends. He was the brother of the late Stanley Bernstein.
His funeral services were private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers.
