WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield public schools’ Technology Fair will host its second annual technology fair tonight at Wakefield Memorial High School from 6 to 8.

The fair will be held in the school’s cafeteria.

The purpose of the event is to introduce families to various vendors so they can make educated decisions before purchasing technology, both for the Bring Your own Device Program and their own personal use at home.

In addition, the Acer Chromebooks currently being used at the Galvin Middle School will be showcased.

Representatives from Apple, Microsoft and Dell will be on hand with various device options and service offerings for families looking for purchase a BYOD for students.

Last, the Worth Ave. Group will provide information on purchasing personal device insurance.

“People attending the event will be able to try out protective sleeves and cases for various devices,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stephen K. Zrike.  “They can talk to an information security analyst about online privacy and safety.”
