MELROSE — Last night’s commute along the Haverhill line was delayed for a considerable time after a Melrose teenager reportedly was struck and killed by a train between the Melrose Highlands and Cedar Park stations.

Melrose Police received a call at 5:37 p.m. that someone was possibly struck by a train.

The medical examiner’s office is currently performing an autopsy on the body.

Police continue to investigate. No foul play is suspected, however.

At least two trains along the line were cancelled, according to the MBTA.
