Savage-obit-webMELROSE — Teresa Marie Savage, 61, of Melrose passed away suddenly in Bermuda while on vacation on July 7.

Teresa was born on Dec. 29, 1953 to the late Lester and Jean (Fleming) Savage. She was raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School and received her associate’s degree from Bunker Hill Community College in May of 2014. She was currently working on finishing her degree at UMass Boston.

Teresa lived in Malden for many years and the past few years in Melrose. Miss Savage worked doing odd jobs, helping out at the temple in Malden and volunteered at the Bread of Life in Malden for many years. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Thursday Morning Housewives Bowling League, was a member of the Polymnia Choral Society and enjoyed going to the Melrose Symphony.

Teresa was well-known for riding her tricycle around Melrose, was an avid reader and was a member of a local book club and participated in many different walks for charity in Melrose and the surrounding area.

Miss Savage enjoyed going to the Milano Senior Center in Melrose and the Malden Senior Center and was a lover of animals.

Teresa was the sister of Dennis Savage and Anne Brabant. She was the aunt of Kiera Brabant. She was cousin of Susan Moore and Lisa Moore and is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Aug. 21 at 8 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
