Theresa-webWAKEFIELD — Theresa A. Enos, lifelong Wakefield resident, died with great dignity at her home on Thursday, April 21.

Born in Wakefield on March 14, 1926, she was one of six children born to the late Susie (Evangelista) and Felice D’Alessandro.

Theresa was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1943. Her classmates thought she would end up a detective as she loved reading mysteries. She loved working in her native Wakefield where, after high school, she first helped to run JJ Newberry’s on Main Street. After finishing secretarial school Theresa became an Executive Assistant at Copley Shoe. She could still take shorthand in her sleep. Once she raised her family, Theresa returned to work at the Wakefield Co-operative Bank where she flourished for many years.

Theresa was married on Nov. 26, 1960 to the late George A. Enos. Together they built a great life raising their two sons.

Theresa loved to garden and would start early in the morning spending hour after hour planting her flowers. No one will ever make a meatball or banana bread like Theresa ever again.

Theresa is survived by her two sons Gerard and Michael and their spouses Saul and Lisa. Theresa is also survived by her three granddaughters, Gina, Allyson and Kristina, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, who affectionately knew her as Tee.

Theresa was preceded in death by her three brothers, Anthony, Phil and John. She is survived by her brother Joe and her sister and best friend Camella Fondini who was with her until the end.

Theresa was an active member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in Greenwood for many years. Her faith in God and her religion was something to truly be admired by anyone who had the privilege to know her.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
