Tim-Byrne-obit-8-21-15-webDERRY, N.H. — Timothy G. Byrne, 55, of Derry, N.H. formerly of Melrose, died at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H. on Aug. 12.

Tim was born in Winchester and raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1977. He went on to earn his degree from University of Massachusetts and his master’s degree from Emerson College. Tim worked in human services for Easter Seals and May Institute in Revere and volunteered for the Special Olympics and many animal rights groups. He loved all animals and especially his pigs, cats, chickens and dogs. Tim enjoyed spending his time in the outdoors camping and hiking.

He was the devoted son of the late Joseph M. and Patricia A. (Convery) Byrne. He was the caring brother of Juliana M. Lemp of Newbury; Maria Hutchings, Patrice Wharem and her husband Dave Dutil, all of New Hampshire; Vincent R. Byrne and his wife Joanne of Saugus and the late J. Michael Byrne Jr. He is also survived by nine beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
