NORTH READING — Today and tomorrow are the last two days to participate in Early Voting for the September 3 State Primary.

The Early Voting polling place is located in the gymnasium at Town Hall, 235 North St. Polls are open on Thursday, August 29 for 12 hours, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday, August 30 for five hours, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The actual date of the state’s biennial election is the day after Labor Day, Tuesday, September 3. In-person voting on that day moves to St. Theresa’s Parish Hall on Winter Street for all four precincts and polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. After the polls close Tuesday night the results of all Early Voting, mail in ballots and Election Day ballots will be announced.

The offices on the ballot for North Reading voters are Senator in Congress for Massachusetts; Representative in Congress for the 6th District; Councillor for the 5th District; Senator in General Court for the First Essex & Middlesex District; Representative in General Court for 20th Middlesex District; Clerk of Courts for Middlesex County and Register of Deeds for Middlesex Southern District. You man only vote for one candidate for each office.

On the Democratic ballot the candidates are: Senator in Congress for Massachusetts: Elizabeth Warren; Representative in Congress for the 6th District: Seth Moulton; Councillor for the 5th District: Eunice Delice Zeigler; Senator in General Court for the First Essex & Middlesex District: None; Representative in General Court for 20th Middlesex District: None; Clerk of Courts for Middlesex County: Michael A. Sullivan; Register of Deeds for Middlesex Southern District: Maria C. Curtatone.

On the Republican ballot the candidates are: Senator in Congress for Massachusetts: Robert J. Antonellis, Ian Cain and John Deaton; Representative in Congress for the 6th District: None; Councillor for the 5th District: Anne M. Manning-Martin; Senator in General Court for the First Essex & Middlesex District: Bruce E. Tarr; Representative in General Court for 20th Middlesex District: Bradley H. Jones Jr.; Clerk of the Courts for Middlesex County: None; Register of Deeds for Middlesex Southern District: None.

Although there is a Libertarian ballot it has no candidates listed, although the write-in option is still available for each of the offices listed.

Citizens who need to vote absentee because they will be out of town or unavailable on Election Day must do so at the Town Clerk’s office by noon on Friday, August 30 due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday.
