NORTH READING — The town’s new Sustainability Committee is launching a column this week in the North Reading Transcript dedicated to all your sustainability questions. The column, which will run periodically, will be offering answers and resources on a range of issues around energy, water, buildings, transportation, recycling, composting, climate change, the environment, and more.
“We’re looking to offer our fellow residents ‘news you can use,’” said John Rogers, committee chair. “And because sustainability is about people as much as the planet, we’ll offer tips for solutions that not only help you cut the impact of your daily living, but that can also help you live more healthily and save money.”
The committee launched in January when the Select Board approved a name change for the long-standing Recycling Committee, and a new mission with a broader suite of topics the committee would “advise and support” the town on.
The inaugural Sustainability Corner column can be found in today’s Transcript on page 9.
