LYNNFIELD — As a proud sponsor of Townscape’s Geraniumfest and Kids’ Day celebration on Saturday, May 20, the Lynnfield Villager is once again sponsoring a coloring contest open to all kids ages 12 and under.

All children who enter the contest will have a chance to win a $50 ice cream gift certificate for themselves plus a gift subscription to the Villager for their parents. There are two age categories: Children 6 years old and under and children 7 to 12 years old.

This year’s theme centers around the traditional images of spring – trees and flowers – and is inspired by Townscape’s Geraniumfest and plant sales being held on May 20 to fund its tree planting campaign to beautify Lynnfield’s public spaces.

The younger children will color a picture of flowers and butterflies while the older children will be challenged by a drawing contest to create a tree they would like to see in their own garden using an outline provided by the Villager’s own graphic artist.

So be sure to stop by the Villager’s booth at the fair to pick up the entry forms and submit them to the newspaper by Wednesday, May 31.

We’re looking forward to picking the winners, displaying all the entries in our newsroom window and publishing photos of the winners with their artwork in the Villager as well. We’ll see you at the fair!
