Cold weather forecast over the next few days may result in the continued expansion of frost in the ground, potentially exposing some water service lines that are closer to the surface to a risk of freezing. A frozen service line will stop water service to your home. In order to prevent your service line from freezing, the Water Department recommends allowing one faucet to trickle slowly during periods of low water use, such as overnight or when the house is vacant during the day. This practice of trickling one faucet should continue until average daytime temperatures begin to rise above freezing.
