BOSTON — The Wakefield High boys’ track and field team advanced to a 4-0 record after a convincing 78-22 victory on Thursday at Boston University.
Jack Berinato won the 55 meter dash in a time of 7.19 seconds. Ryan Tracy placed 2nd in 7.29 seconds.
Josh Catino placed 1st in the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 9.66.
In the mile, Ben Stratton placed 1st in a time of 4:38. Matt McCoy placed 2nd in a PR of 5:05.
In the 600 meters, William Mezikofsky led a sweep as he placed 1st in 1:35.16. Joe Patt placed 2nd in 1:35.28. Will Riley placed 3rd in 1:38.06.
Lucas Kehoe won the high jump with a jump of 5’10”. Riley got 3rd jumping 5’2”.
In the long jump, Lucas Kehoe had a phenomenal jump of 21’1 after only his second time ever jumping. Currently this jump is tops in the league and in Wakefield’s division. Ryan Tracy was second with a jump of 17’1.
Leith Jones won the 1000 meters in a time of 2:46. James Christie placed 2nd in 2:57.
In the 300 meters, Bradley Diaz ran a very fast time of 36.29 just shy of the school record and Lucas Kehoe was second with a very fast time of 36.92. These times are two of the fastest times in the league and state.
In the 2 mile, Brett McLellan placed 1st in 11:23. David LoCoco was 2nd in 11:38.
In the 4×200 relay, Tracy, Borda, Berinatio and Arria won with a time of 1:42.76.
The 4×400 meter relay team of Riley, Brian Casey, Stratton and Diaz won easily in a time of 3:44.
This Thursday, the Warriors travel back to BU to face off against undefeated Burlington at 4:30 p.m.
