WAKEFIELD — The 2018 WMHS baseball team made it back to the postseason this year, thanks in large part to senior co-captains Jake Nardone and Brendan Coughlin. The duo hit back-to-back in the middle of the order all season and produced many great plays with the bat and the glove.

The Middlesex League’s baseball coaches met recently to make this year’s All-Star selections in both the Freedom and Liberty divisions, and the Warriors were certainly happy to see their two captains make the list.

Freedom champion Burlington, who Wakefield beat twice this season, tied with second-place Wilmington as both teams had four All-Stars. Wakefield, Melrose and Watertown each had two selections while Stoneham had one.

In the Liberty Division, second-place Lexington had four All-Stars while first-place Belmont had three. Both teams had Co-MVP’s. Arlington also had three selections while Reading and Woburn each had two and Winchester had one.
