Loved shopping, trips to Foxwoods and line dancing
WAKEFIELD — Ms. Janet L. Cipriano, a resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1 at Brightview Senior Living Facility, Wakefield, at the age of 96.
Janet was born on August 7, 1926, in Boston, one of six children of the late Joseph and Carmela (Sicuso) Cipriano. She grew up in the west end of Boston and graduated from the Women’s Practical Arts High School in 1944. Her family moved to Somerville and eventually she settled in Wakefield.
Janet worked as a vault supervisor at State Street Bank of Boston for over 25 years. She enjoyed her time at the bank and formed many lasting friendships. Janet loved shopping at Filene’s Basement, trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, line dancing, going to the Senior Center, family gatherings and visits with friends.
She will be remembered for her warmth, big heart and deep love of family.
Janet was the dear sister to the late Millie, Sam, Anthony, Leo Cipriano and Josephine Rufo. Sister-in-law to Diane Cipriano of Melrose and the late Catherine Cipriano of Arlington. Cherished aunt to Geri Sannella and her husband John of North Reading; Christine Scoppettuolo and her husband Stephen of West Peabody; Michael Cipriano and his wife Julianna of Saugus; and Cheryl Slauenwhite and her husband Frank of Melrose. ‘AJ’ was an adored great-aunt to Danielle, Alex, Jaclyn, Paul, Erica, Lane, Joseph, Sophia and Matthew. She was a beloved great-great-aunt to Quentin, Scarlett, Osbourne and Arianna.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather during a Visiting Hour at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, July 12 at 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield for her funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
