No more water from Crystal Lake?

By MARK SARDELLA

WAKEFIELD – Crystal Lake’s days of providing drinking water for Wakefield may be coming to an end, thanks to new, more stringent federal water-quality regulations.

New standards on acceptable levels of substances known as “PFAS” will likely force Wakefield to move entirely to the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) and relegate Crystal Lake to an emergency water source only.
