A gifted athlete who had a warm heart and giving nature
He was born in Melrose on November 6, 1965. And was the third son of the late Louis R. Sardella and Ann Marie Pratt Sardella.
From a young age, Chris was a gifted athlete. Throughout his boyhood and high school years, it was his love of sports that become a driving force in creating his strong competitive nature.
Chris was always a popular and friendly person, and he was always admired for his warm heart and giving nature.
Chris graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School in 1983 and was a three-sport varsity letterman.
Later in life, Chris met Linda Lane who stood by him for many years, both as a friend and as a partner. Chris enjoyed his many trips with Linda to the camp in Maine where they would swim, boat, or simply enjoy their surroundings on a lazy day. Linda, a retired nurse, was instrumental in helping Chris to navigate his medical journey, especially later in life when it became increasingly more difficult.
Chris is survived by his loving companion Linda Lane of Wakefield as well as his two brothers, Louis R. Sardella Jr. of Saco, Maine and Lee R. Sardella of Hampden, Massachusetts, as well as many nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his brother Matthew J. (Matty) Sardella.
The outpouring of love that Chris received from relatives, friends, schoolmates, brother Knights, and all who knew him during his long illness was a source of great strength and will always be remembered by and appreciated by his family.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, September 23 from 4 – 7 p.m. A celebration of Chris’ life will be held Sunday, September 26 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the West Side Social Club, Harrington Court, Wakefield.
