A family-oriented woman who enjoyed traveling

NAPLES, Fla. — Joan E. Grasso (Peach), 85, passed away on January 25, 2022, with her husband, daughters, sister, and nieces by her side in Naples, Fla, formerly of Melrose. She was the loving wife of Robert Rocco Grasso with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Medford, she was the daughter of Lenore McAloon and Walter Peach. She worked at Sears Roebuck & Company as a decorator consultant for several years. After retirement she volunteered at the Museum of Science in Boston and Collier County Election Polls. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with friends. Her most cherished times were those spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Grasso; her children: Christine Fanikos and her husband, John, of Wakefield; Diane Morey and husband, Brian, of Wakefield and Valerie Anastas and husband, Jeff, of Kennebunk, ME; and her grandchildren, Christopher, Andrea, Conor, Caroline, Rachel, Grace, Steven, and Samuel.

A celebration of life will be held with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Matthews House in Naples, Fla.
