A family oriented man who loved sports and music

LONDONDERRY, N.H. — Robert C. Pinkney, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of Melrose died peacefully on January 5, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born in Melrose on January 19, 1937 to Gilbert and Ada (Doucette) Pinkney, the youngest of seven children. He was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School and remained in Melrose for most of his life.

Robert married Deborah (Mountford) Pinkney at St. Mary’s Church in Melrose, on December 5, 1956. They were married for 65 loving years and raised their seven children in Melrose. Bob was a mason and retired in 1999. He enjoyed sports, music, watching the birds and lots of family time. Robert was always the grill master at all family cookouts; “breakfast on the grill” at Mike and Barbara’s summer cookouts was a tradition enjoyed by all. He and his wife Deborah enjoyed vacations on the lake for many years with all their family.

Robert was the beloved husband of Deborah (Mountford) Pinkney. Loving father of Debbie Pinkney, Gail Pinkney, the late Robert Pinkney, Jon Pinkney and his wife Sheri, David Pinkney and his partner Sherry, Daniel Pinkney and his partner Mark and Karen Pinkney. Proud grandfather of Adam Pinkney and his wife Kathryn, Jenna Pinkney, Melissa Pinkney, Tammy (Pinkney) Fergusin and her husband Chris, and Cody Steele and his partner Maddey. Caring great-grandfather of Skyler and Sarah Fergusin.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, from 9 – 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. immediately following the visitation. Burial to follow at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Due to COVID concerns, there will be no reception. All visitors to the funeral home are asked to wear a face mask per order of the Melrose Board of Health.
