Beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin

WAKEFIELD — Susan E. Welsh, age 58 of Wakefield, died on Saturday, November 19 at her home.

She was born in Seattle, Washington on March 26, 1964 and was the daughter of the late Dr. Kenneth S. and Sarah E. (Wiley) Welsh.

Susan was raised in Lynnfield and was a graduate of Lynnfield High School. She enjoyed a foreign exchange program in Hamilton, New Zealand during her junior year. Susan then attended George Washington University in Washington DC. She had worked as the director of International Programs at Elder Hostel in Boston, and then was the proprietor of The Blind Pig, a pub in Athol, Mass., for many years. Most recently Susan had been employed by Whole Foods in Melrose.

She is survived by her brother Jay A. Welsh and wife Maria of Lynnfield; sister Caroline Welsh Oliveira and her husband Carlos, and her nephew Maxwell, all of Lynnfield. Susan was a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin.

A graveside service will be held to honor Susan’s memory at Forest Hill Cemetery, Forest Hill Avenue, Lynnfield on Saturday, December 10 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
