Throwback Thursday, 1912

 

 

A horse-drawn Amoskeag fire engine flies out of the Wakefield Fire Station on Crescent Street en route to a call in 1912. The steam pumper was purchased by the town of Wakefield at a cost of $5,157 in 1907 from the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company in Manchester, New Hampshire. Instead of firefighters pumping water
