Five named Middlesex League All-Stars

WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield High girls’ swim team held their annual end of the season banquet recently to celebrate another terrific season. 

The Warriors handed out team awards, thanked their seniors, celebrated the Middlesex League All-Stars and announced the captains for next year.

Wakefield had five swimmers earn All-Star status with the league this year: senior captain Audrey Cook (100 breaststroke, 200 medley relay), junior Lucy Wagner (200 medley relay), sophomore Allie Degray (100 Butterfly), freshman Elie Wagner (200 Freestyle) and freshman Carolyn Cote (200 medley relay). 

Cook also earned an All-Conference nod (200 freestyle). 

Team awards were presented to Cook (MVP), Elie Wagner (Rookie Of the Year), Cote (Most Improved), Deyalin Medina (Unsung Hero), Teagan Norton (Spirit Award), Angie Martinez (Captains Award), Lucy Wagner (Coaches Award) and Daisy McGourty (Coaches Award). 

The captains for next season will be Martinez and Lucy Wagner. 

Wakefield’s strong season included four regular season wins, a 5th place finish at the Middlesex League Meet and multiple strong performances at sectionals and states.
