WAKEFIELD — Grace “Betty” Gately McWade Stepasiuk, 89, of Wakefield died on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her residence. Born in Malden on February 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Martin J. and Grace (McKeever) Gately.
Betty was a graduate of Malden High School, class of 1945. She was a retired Office Manager for Keystone Batteries in Winchester. Betty was daily communicate at St. Joseph Church in Wakefield and was a member of the Lady Sodality.
She was the wife of the late Warren McWade and John M. Stepasiuk. Mother of Sherry Browning and her husband Robert of Stoneham, Terrence McWade and his wife Suzanne of Billerica, Kerry McWade and his wife Ellen of Hanover, and Brendan McWade of Springfield, James Stepasiuk, Barbara Stepasiuk and husband Paul, and the late John W. Stepasiuk. Grandmother of Megan Picariello and husband Michael, David Browning, Kevin McWade, Kara McWade, Timothy McWade, Shannon McWade, Tayna Stepasiuk and Catherine Anna Swaby. Sister of Jane Gagne, Irene Craven and her late husband Robert, the late Dorothy Ruelle and her husband Alwin, and the late Leo Gately and his wife Carole. Sister-in-law of Eva Moffitt and her late husband Robert, Adell McWade and her late husband Paul, Harold McWade and his wife Alice, Alice McNeil, the late George McWade, and the late Virginia Bass. Also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
